Hey everyone! This is the prolouge that I have been working on all morning. Enjoy!

Wolf Tale: Survival of the Red Oak

                                                    Prologue
Hedge took a few steps through the brown dirt-like material. It squished under his paws like old moss left rotting on a tree. Ugh…gross… He thought. Hedge was a very sanitary wolf, and getting his fur dirty did not make him happy.  He took his paw out of the dirt-stuff and walked away.
As he walked, Hedge could feel the breeze ruffle his fur. He liked windy days, especially when they were cold. He was what other wolves would call a Frost Wolf, or a Wolf of Winter. Although he was an Eurasian wolf, meaning he wasn’t a true wolf of the winter, but only an average wolf of his pack.
Hedge continued on until he came to a nettle patch. He stopped by it and sniffed the air for any food scents he could pick up. Opening his mouth and breathing in the scents, he caught something. He sniffed again. Yes. He knew this scent. It was a vole, and it was on the run.
Out of the corner of his eye he caught movement. A small brown tuft of fur was scampering through the nettle patch. Quickly, Hedge spun around and saw the creature. It froze in fear as he looked at it. The vole was about to run, when suddenly a dark growl was heard from the woods. The vole ran, and Hedge turned to find where the growl had come from.
As he turned his head to face a sycamore tree, a massive paw slammed down on its base. The vole ran straight at the paw, unaware that it was not just another patch of grass. The giant paw lifted up and slammed down on the vole. The paw then moved back into the shadows, and a chewing sound was heard.
The creature swung its head into the light, with its body next. It coldly laughed, and a chill went down Hedge’s spine. It was a wolf.
“Long way for you to travel, little pup.” He said. His voice was like broken ice and thorns. It pierced the heart of Hedge as he shivered in fear.
“I am not a pup!!” he yelled, trying to look as much as a warrior as he could. “I am Hedge, the warrior wolf of the forest!!”
The wolf chuckled again. He then unsheathed his claws and a smile grew on his face.  It was as if Hedge was just a little flower pod, and he was a great oak. He then laughed again and pulled Hedge into the shadows of the night, where no wolf could follow.
